Next Time

It started with an offer for coffee—
a thoughtful yes,
no expectations,
just curiosity and a bit of time.
Coffee turned to breakfast—
easy conversation,
unexpected depth.
We were so busy talking,
I hardly ate.
A few warm embraces lingered—
gentle pauses in a morning well spent.
No big promises.
No hidden agendas.
Just two people
looking for new connections,
open to what if.
Honest about not knowing
Each other yet.
So when he said,
“Next time, let’s take a walk,”
I said yes.
