A Once In A Lifetime Day

This morning I had the most magical kayaking experience of my life.
The water was calm and peaceful, and before we even got our kayaks in the water, a pod of humpback whales appeared right in front of the docks. They stayed with us the entire time. We watched them bubble feed at least six times, saw tails everywhere, and even had the surreal experience of the pod swimming directly underneath our kayaks. Hearing whale songs while floating that close is something I’ll never forget.
On top of that, we spent time with sea lions and had a curious seal pop up to say hi. It felt like the ocean decided to show off everything at once.
The wildest part? This trip happened because of a chance run-in at a local restaurant the other day. I asked if there was space on a tour, and it turned into a once-in-a-lifetime day.
A good reminder that sometimes all it takes is asking.
And that the magic of life still exists, even after everything.
